So…Who Am I?
Born in California and with a family tree including stage performers, filmmakers, and hippie-intellectuals, I was imbued with the traits of curiosity, creativity, and an “old soul”-fulness from a young age.
Obsessed with water and the creatures beneath the waves, I longed to be a mermaid, a siren—someone mystical, with the power to cast spells with their songs, to be close to the sea animals, to plumb the depths of our blue-and-green dot floating in space.
My adolescence took me far from the ocean—to the Southwest, bright and sunny and expansive. There I furthered my studies, winning spelling bees and creative writing competitions, getting the starring role in stage productions, and even a talent agent for modeling and movie roles.
A trip to New York City with my acting troupe was formative; five Broadway shows in half as many days, and the one thing I allowed myself to buy: a giant poster of Audrey Hepburn, my idol then and now, clad in a black shift and pearls with a coffee in hand, clutching her breakfast in front of Tiffany’s. (A harbinger of my own life to come? If you know the plotline, you’ll quickly see the significance.)
With early adulthood came the usual responsibilities: I received a full-ride scholarship to my first-choice university and graduated with the highest honors and a social sciences degree. I studied abroad in Europe, where I got a taste of total independence—taking scenic trains from country to country, daytime picnicking with bread and wine beside centuries-old European squares, and dancing till the early hours in candlelit clubs. I liked this newfound freedom to do adventurous, clandestine things. A lot.
And here I am in this next phase—continuing my education in an esteemed PhD program in a field I’m absurdly passionate about, while enjoying the flexibility and novelty that this unorthodox pursuit of mine provides.
Another interest of mine has been real estate, which suits my industrious and entrepreneurial spirit very well. As a thoughtful, disciplined, and risk-averse investor who’s already enjoyed the stability and profitability of real estate thus far, I’ve found this venture to be right in my wheelhouse, and look forward to growing my portfolio even further.
While I was nurtured in the nature-loving, contemplative aura of the West Coast (see: my dedicated yoga practice, commitment to sustainability, and plant-based diet), other facets of my temperament align with the sophistication, elegance, progressiveness, and erudition of the East Coast. It is on the East Coast that I feel most myself: where my theatrical, sensitive nature and conscientious, intellectual side can flourish equally.
Regardless of my whereabouts, there have been threads throughout my life that are unceasing: a deep and undying kinship with animals, a creative’s observant and empathetic spirit, a traveler’s thirst for new cultures, and a philosopher’s search for meaning. I’ve walked confidently across stages and into erotically charged play parties, onto internationally bound planes alone and into my scuba suit to explore shipwrecks 100 feet below sea level. I’m unceasing in my quest for the unconventional, the extraordinary, the taboo, and the forbidden.
I seek a life erotic—not inherently explicit, but one defined by what renowned psychotherapist Esther Perel describes as “this quality of aliveness, of vibrancy, of vitality.”
I’ve found my way here for a reason.
And so have you.
